Location
La Maison de Campagne is located in the Isle of Skye on the northern Trotternish peninsula. Four miles from the port of Uig and twenty miles from the capital Portree. The apartment is located off the A855, down a private track. The nearest beach, the Camus Mor is less than two miles away, the iconic Quiraing is nine miles away. The nearest local amenities can be found in Uig, fifteen minutes away, they include a Post Office, ATM's, Petrol station, cafes, restaurants, supermarket. Nearby attractions are the Island Life Museum, Rha Falls, Fairy Glen, Uig Pottery, Skye Brewery and many more.
Getting Here
Travelling from Fort William and Inverness take the A82 then A87 and follow directions to the Skye Bridge then Portree. Continue on the A87 towards Uig, then join the A855 up to Kilvaxter. After passing the Whitewave Centre and Primary School on the right, look out for a sign on the road indicating for you to turn left, through the gate and down the track to the house. This drive will take approximately three hours. We are about 20 miles north of Portree.
Invernesss Airport is the closest airport to Skye. From Inverness either hire a car from the airport from Enterprise and follow the above directions by road. Or, take a local Stagecoach bus into Inverness Bus Station from outside of the airport (this costs £4.40 and takes approx. 25 minutes) and then a coach to Skye via Citylink, this costs £26 for a single adult and takes approx. three and a half hours. Once arrving in Portree either take a taxi from the Square or catch a local Stagecoach bus.

From Mallaig Port on the mainland you can take a ferry to Armadale port in south Skye. From the Western Isles take a ferry from Tarbert (Isle of Harris) or Lochmaddy (North Uist) to Uig Port. La Maison de Campagne is just 4 miles away from Uig port. Contact CalMac for ferry details.
Skye can be reached by coach from Inverness, Glasgow and Fort William. Local buses operate in Skye and there is a bus stop at Kilmuir Hall, a five minute walk away from La Maison de Campagne. See Citylink for coach information and Stagecoach for local bus information.

The nearest train station to Skye is at Kyle of Lochalsh, a few miles from the Skye Bridge. This train service runs between Kyle and Inverness. See Scotrail website for train times.
